are hosting a dedication ceremony for the Historic Marker in honor of John S. Trower. We will be celebrating his 172nd birthday, the marker dedication and the successful historic designation of the building to the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places.
JOHN S. TROWER (10/3/1849 – 4/4/1911) was an African American businessman and philanthropist who ran a restaurant and incredibly successful catering business in Germantown.
